  • Device control - The message shown when a driver install fails now includes the Windows error message.
  • Device control - Added the authenticode information of the driver to driver overview.
  • Device control - Community suggested feature - You can now also backup online drivers instead of only installed drivers. This enables you to download a driver without being forced to immediately install the driver.
  • Settings - Community suggested feature - A new setting has been added so that a minimum driver signature can be selected for the drivers that are downloadable through health check or device control. The available options are none, signed, authenticode verified by a trusted publisher, authenticode, and WHQL.
  • Driver families - Added new categories and devices with a lot of new driver family entries to clean, such as devices and peripherals from Razer, Mad Catz, Synaptics, Dell, Epson, Lexmark, Kyocera, Brother and Canon. The existing driver families also have been greatly improved by adding a large number of new driver family entries.
  • Interface - All screens are now loaded asynchronous and do not block the user interface anymore during loading.
  • Interface - Longer lasting tasks, such as the health check and driver family scan, can now be cancelled.
  • Filters - Added a filter to show custom, existing or all filters.
  • Localization - Added 11 new languages: Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) with special thanks to D. Hsieh, Yoruba (Nigeria), Punjabi (India), Nepali (Nepal), Maori (New Zealand), Lao (Lao P.D.R.), Khmer (Cambodia), Igbo (Nigeria), Hausa (Latin, Nigeria), Bosnian (Latin, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Mongolian (Cyrillic, Mongolia), and Marathi (India).

  • Interface - The filters and history data grid now automatically scrolls to the top when changing the selected item.
  • Interface - Screens that have success messages (such as resend email or reset password) now show a green notification upon success.

Driver Fusion 1.7

11 July 2013

Version 1.7 is here! This release of Driver Fusion focuses on improving the interface and user experience. The release notes below contain more specific details about the updates, changes and fixes that Driver Fusion 1.7 introduces.

New features:

  • Driver family - Driver inspection and driver overview have been combined into a single completely redesigned screen named driver family (named driver family because all driver versions are combined into one group, e.g. AMD display drivers). The redesigned interface includes a more spacious layout, icons and better navigation.
  • Category view - Instead of listing all drivers the driver family screen just shows the categories. This makes it easier to find the driver that you want to delete instead of having to search through the list of all driver families.
  • Details view - This view provides the list of all driver families just like you were used to but now with the new design of the driver family screen.
  • Notification bar - Hints and notifications have been combined into one simple notification bar at the top of the screen.
  • Steam - If you use Driver Fusion on Steam you can now launch Driver Fusion without having the Steam client running. To do so you need to run the Driver Fusion executable with the parameter "-nosteam" (without the quotes).
  • Hint navigation - It is now possible to pause hints. Previous and next buttons can be used to browse all the hints manually.
  • Installed filter - Driver overview has been integrated with the new driver family screen. Installed drivers can now be filtered from the complete list by selecting the option to only show installed drivers.

Driver Fusion 1.4

14 December 2012

We're working on creating new functionality that makes it possible to automatically update drivers. Driver Fusion 1.4 contains the first step for achieving this goal, the device identifier feature for device control. Version 1.4 has been released and below you will find the release notes containing the details about this release.

New features:

  • Connectivity indication - All screens that require internet access show whether Driver Fusion has internet access or not. The connectivity indication automatically updates when the internet access status changes.
  • Hints - Community suggested feature - We added several hints to each screen in Driver Fusion. These hints are intended to help novice users and provide tips as well as detailed descriptions of the available features. Experienced users can disable the hints in the general settings.
  • Driver detection - You can now help to improve the detection of drivers by automatically reporting anonymous driver information about drivers to Treexy. You can always disable this functionality in the settings if you don't feel like contributing to the Driver Fusion community.
  • OEM/Phantom devices - In device control you can now filter by OEM and Phantom devices. OEM shows devices with drivers that do not ship out-of-box with Windows. Phantom shows devices that are installed but are not currently connected to the computer.
  • Device identifier - Community suggested feature - Ever discovered devices with a yellow exclamation/question mark or with the name 'unknown device'? Driver Fusion can now try to identify the type, name and manufacturer of these devices. Our database is constantly updated with new devices, but achieving a solid detection rate is going to take some time to complete.
  • Device control - We added the ability to copy a device or driver property to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl+C. You can now also double-click on a file property to go directly to the containing location.

Changed features:

  • Interface - Added a separation between the menu and the content for easier navigation. The Driver Fusion window can now also be resized to fit smaller screen resolutions, down to 640x480.
  • Installer - The manual can now be found in the start menu under the name 'Driver Fusion Manual' to make it easier to find.
  • Device control - Improved the detection of compatible device driver backups by adding additional operating system and device information.

Resolved issues:

  • Treexy account - Changing your password will now show a correct message when your current password is invalid.
  • Device control - Restoring a device driver backup would not succeed on some systems.

Driver Fusion 1.3

20 October 2012

Driver Fusion 1.3 has just been released! Multiple stability fixes have been applied and Device Control has received a large update. But that's not all, for more information about the changes see the release notes below.

New features:

  • Translations - We had a lot of help with improving the translations. The following languages were improved: Polish, Russian, German, Hebrew and Dutch. We would like to thank Lukasz 'RobeN' Abramczuk, Iakov Markov, Tim Mammitzsch and Itiel Yossefian for all their help and feedback. As a side note, we've finished updating a large part of the interface so those changes were not passed along to the translators yet.
  • Uninstaller - The Driver Fusion uninstaller can now also delete user generated files. It will ask the user if settings and backups should also be removed when uninstalling.
  • Device control - Improved interface and improved user feedback. More device properties are visible and codes, such as flags and removal policy, now show descriptive representations of the values. The status of a device is now visible in the view on the left hand side and icons have been added to the sections as well.

Changed features:

  • Interface tweaks - Lots of interface tweaks for better user feedback. For example: the watermark explanations in the input fields no longer disappear on selecting the field but only when the user starts typing and entries that will be deleted on reboot won't show up as remaining entries after cleaning.
  • Multi-monitor - Driver Fusion now restores to its previous position and monitor correctly when starting Driver Fusion.
  • Grid overview - All the grid overviews have been updated. Newly added entries will now sort according to the existing entries and the random unintentional close on certain system configurations is resolved.
  • Premium information redesign - The screen that is shown to free users when a feature is premium only has been redesigned to contain less text and to redirect the user to the website for more information instead of to the store page only.
  • Registry keys - Improved the advanced removal algorithm so that hard to remove registry entries now either get removed instantly or at least on reboot.
  • Enhanced removal mode - Before Driver Fusion will clean any hard to remove entries the user first has to allow Driver Fusion to force deletion of those entries. For new installations this will now be enabled by default.

Resolved issues:

  • Icon restore - Icons now always get restored correctly the first time.
  • Blurry text - All the text is now as crisp as it can be. When resizing the Driver Fusion window the text of notifications would sometimes become hard to read (blurred).
  • In-app update -Driver Fusion is now able to update itself without the language files causing the update to fail in certain conditions.
