Driver Fusion 2.6 has been released and is available for download. This release focuses on improving the user experience. Below you will find the release notes containing all the changes.

New features:

  • Device control & health check - Added diagnostic logging to provide easier troubleshooting. The log files are automatically stored in the log folder in the installation folder.

Changed features:

  • Device control - Moved uninstall from driver overview to device overview.
  • Device control - Added a small delay before searching for a device to improve performance on low-end machines.
  • Device control - Identifying devices and downloading drivers can now be cancelled.
  • Health check - It is now possible to scroll through the health categories during fixing.

Driver Fusion 2.5

Driver Fusion 2.5 has been released and is available for download. This release focuses on improving the interface and user experience. Below you will find the release notes containing all the changes.

New features:

  • Health check - Community suggested feature - You can now exclude a device or available driver in health check. This enables you to keep the current driver if you know that the driver is fine as is.
  • Device control & health check - Improved the performance of retrieving device properties on Windows Vista and higher.
  • Reporting - Added a report that you can send to Treexy for diagnostic purposes.
  • Localization - Improved the Chinese (Simplified) translation with special thanks to YanJun Sun.

Changed features:

  • Reporting - The reporting feature has been moved from device control to settings.
  • Health check - The additional driver information, such as the provider and release date, can now be accessed directly instead of through the tooltip of the driver.
  • Starting - Improved the startup time of Driver Fusion by about 10%.
  • Interface - The settings menu has been redesign for consistency.
  • Interface - All links are now colored to make them more distinguishable.
  • Interface - Most interface elements in health check and driver families now change their background color when you hover over them.

  • Interface - Localized dates could in some cases not display in accordance with the regional settings of Windows.

Driver Fusion 2.3

Driver Fusion 2.3 has been released and is available for download or update within Driver Fusion. This release focuses on resolving existing issues. Below you will find the release notes containing the other changes.

  • Health check - The tooltip of the driver now includes an error message when the driver download fails.

Changed features:

  • Device control - Installing a driver now returns to the previously selected device again.
  • Health check - System protection is no longer executed when driver backup is the only selected group.
  • Health check - Improved matching of drivers with common identifiers used among manufacturers.
  • Health check - Devices and drivers are now sorted by their class.

Resolved issues:

  • Device control & health check - Driver install could sometimes fail due to some files not being able to download.
  • Device control - The naming scheme of backup could occasionally generate existing names.
  • Device control - The information at the bottom of install driver was not completely visible with some translations.

Driver Fusion 2.2

Driver Fusion 2.2 has been released and is available for download or update within Driver Fusion. This release features multiple performance improvements, improved health check results, and a more responsive interface. See below for a full list of all the changes made.

New features:

  • Interface - Health check and driver family now show progress in the taskbar of Windows 7 and higher.
  • Health check - The tooltip of the driver now includes the Windows error message when the driver install fails.
  • Device control - Added a driver backup failed message in case the backup failed.
  • Device control - The message shown when a driver install fails now includes the Windows error message.
  • Device control - Added the authenticode information of the driver to driver overview.
  • Device control - Community suggested feature - You can now also backup online drivers instead of only installed drivers. This enables you to download a driver without being forced to immediately install the driver.
  • Settings - Community suggested feature - A new setting has been added so that a minimum driver signature can be selected for the drivers that are downloadable through health check or device control. The available options are none, signed, authenticode verified by a trusted publisher, authenticode, and WHQL.
  • Driver families - Added new categories and devices with a lot of new driver family entries to clean, such as devices and peripherals from Razer, Mad Catz, Synaptics, Dell, Epson, Lexmark, Kyocera, Brother and Canon. The existing driver families also have been greatly improved by adding a large number of new driver family entries.
  • Interface - All screens are now loaded asynchronous and do not block the user interface anymore during loading.
  • Interface - Longer lasting tasks, such as the health check and driver family scan, can now be cancelled.
  • Filters - Added a filter to show custom, existing or all filters.
  • Localization - Added 11 new languages: Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) with special thanks to D. Hsieh, Yoruba (Nigeria), Punjabi (India), Nepali (Nepal), Maori (New Zealand), Lao (Lao P.D.R.), Khmer (Cambodia), Igbo (Nigeria), Hausa (Latin, Nigeria), Bosnian (Latin, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Mongolian (Cyrillic, Mongolia), and Marathi (India).
  • Health check - The tooltip of the driver now includes the provider, release date, version, and signature.
  • Health check - Changed the cursor of the driver backup destination icon to a pointer to better indicate that it is clickable.

Changed features:

  • Health check - Drivers with a lower version number than the installed driver are now also allowed to be installed. This is especially useful when the older driver, such as the default Microsoft driver, has a higher version number than the newer driver shipped by the vendor.
  • Health check - Increased the amount of drivers that can be downloaded for missing and outdated drivers through improved matching.
  • Device control - Changed the color for missing devices and missing drivers in the colored bar.
  • Device control - Improved the overall detection rate of device identifier by including the compatible ids of the device.
  • Device control - The installed driver filter is now always located at the right side of the screen for consistency.
  • Device control - Improved and the naming scheme and performance of backup.
  • Interface - Renamed location at driver backup to destination to make it similar to health check.
  • Treexy account - It is now possible to register and sign in using your email address instead of a username. The existing usernames are no longer required and will be removed in the future. Remembered account details (if enabled) will automatically use your email address the next time you sign in.
  • Treexy account - Improved handling of sign in and sign out so that users have less chance of waiting for the server to reset existing sessions that are not closed correctly.
  • Interface - The filters and history data grid now automatically scrolls to the top when changing the selected item.
  • Interface - Screens that have success messages (such as resend email or reset password) now show a green notification upon success.
  • Interface - All dialog screens are now the same size.

Resolved issues:

  • Health check - Updated the translations to give a more meaningful warning message. For example, no more driver install confirmation warning is given when only a driver backup is created.
  • Product activation - The upgrade to premium label was not immediately hidden after license activation.
  • Device control - Devices could in some cases not show any driver information even though there was a driver installed.
  • Device control - Removing a backup in install driver did not refresh the content correctly.
  • Device control - Install driver asked to select the online driver to install when the only available driver was hidden due to the active filter setting.
  • Device control - Switching between the results of device identifier no longer has a delay.
  • Device control - Reboot notifications could in some cases not show.
  • Device control - The view all filter did not show phantom devices.
  • Device control - The current search query was not reapplied after performing a scan.
  • Device control - The state of related devices did not refresh when enabling or disabling a device that influences the state of related devices. For example, Bluetooth devices are usually related to a couple of other devices.

Driver Fusion 2.1

Version 2.1 of Driver Fusion is available for download or update within Driver Fusion. This release brings a fresh new look and more colorful design to the entire interface. We've also made the analysis feature, to find missing or outdated drivers on your system, available to free users after popular demand. Driver Fusion 2.1 also contains many other improvements. New features:

  • Device control - You can now search for a device name to make it easier to find specific devices.
  • Device control - Devices now show their own device icon instead of the device status icon. A colored bar, that represents the current device status, is now shown to the left of the device.
  • Health check - Community suggested feature - The analysis feature, such as finding all missing or outdated drivers on your system, is now available to free users. A premium license is required to download and install these drivers, or to create a backup of all drivers.

Changed features:

  • Device control - Driver backups now store signature information in the backup information file (.3xy).
  • Health check - Community suggested feature - The last used backup location is now remembered. The backup location is also added to the backup locations of driver backup in device control.
  • Health check - Improved the algorithm for finding both missing and outdated drivers.
  • Interface - Health check is now the default screen when opening Driver Fusion.
  • Interface - The notification bar now automatically scales the text size in relation to the available space.
  • Interface - The menu has been redesigned to make it clearer and easier to use.

Driver Fusion 2.0

This new release contains the most requested feature for Driver Fusion, namely an automatic driver updater! This feature can be found in health check under maintenance, together with the ability to automatically create a backup of all drivers. Driver Fusion 2.0 also contains many other improvements and resolved issues. Below you will find the release notes containing the other changes.

New features:

  • Health check - Community suggested feature - Health check analyses your computer's health and helps you to easily fix the detected issues. Its automatic driver updater is ideal for installing missing or newer drivers without having to worry about technical details. You can also use health check to create a backup of all installed drivers at once.
  • Driver backup & online - Community suggested feature - The installed driver version is now displayed to easily distinguish between the different driver versions.
  • Driver backup & online - Community suggested feature - Added a filter to hide the installed driver version from the available drivers that can be installed.
  • Driver backup & online - Community suggested feature - The installed driver version and the backed up driver version (if any) is now displayed.
  • Device control - Driver files now includes the information file (.inf) and catalog file (.cat) from the installed driver.
  • Device control - Driver backups are now stored in an easy to understand folder name by including the device name and driver version.
  • Device identifier - Increased the amount of devices that can be identified as a result of multiple inquiries per device.
  • Filters - You can now use a file and directory browser to make it easier to select a file or directory.

  • Device control - Improved the performance of loading all devices by about 800%. This is especially noticeable on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
  • Monitor - The interface is no longer disabled during initial loading of the screen. Loading is now also immediately finished when visiting the monitor screen again.
  • Interface - In case of a network problem, the premium status is now only reset when going to another screen. This allows the user to continue with their current screen even though online features will be out of order due to the network problem.
  • History - The interface is no longer disabled during initial loading of the screen.
  • Interface - Improved the overall responsiveness of Driver Fusion.
  • Interface - The file sizes of empty files are now displayed as 0 KB instead of 0 B.
  • Settings - Renamed messages, located in the general section, to protection.
  • Settings - The system restore setting is now located under protection in the general section.
  • System protection - On Windows 8, system protection is now always executed regardless of the age of a previous restore point. This is now consistent with the behaviour from previous Windows versions.
  • Steam - Removed Steam Community Overlay integration as it was disabled by Valve.

  • Device control - On Windows XP, a driver backup could in some cases not find a catalog file.
  • Device control - On Windows Vista, driver information would sometimes be empty.
  • Device control - On Windows Vista, a driver could in some cases not be downloaded.
  • Device control - A driver backup was not saving the backup information file (.3xy) when the backup location was changed. This prevented Driver Fusion from automatically detecting the created backups.
  • Device control - Several dates, such as the driver release date, were not displayed in accordance with the regional settings of Windows.
  • Device control - Very short button flickering when selecting a different device.
  • Device control - The backup and uninstall buttons were still visible when there was no driver installed.
  • Product activation - Adding an existing Driver Fusion Premium product code displayed the incorrect error message.
  • Starting/closing - Several issues that caused Driver Fusion to close unintentionally.
  • Steam - Fixed an issue with the Steam build that caused Driver Fusion to randomly close immediately after starting.

Driver Fusion 1.9

Driver Fusion 1.9 has been released! The main changes of this release are the new driver online feature, many interface improvements and an improved driver backup. Below you will find the release notes containing the other changes.

New features:

  • Driver online - In device control you can now download drivers for your devices with ease. This is not only useful for devices without drivers, but also if you want to update your existing driver. The online driver database is constantly updated with new drivers, but achieving a solid collection is going to take some time to complete.
  • Driver backup - Community suggested feature - Driver Fusion will now ask you to select a backup location first. The last ten backup locations are automatically remembered.
  • Driver backup - Backups made with device control now support information files with multiple platforms and operating systems.
  • History - The log and restore screen have been combined into a single history screen, allowing quicker access to common information.

Changed features:

  • Device control - Devices are now sorted alphabetically for easier navigation.
  • Interface - Data grids now automatically wrap the text when it exceeds the available width.
  • Interface - The screen shown to users when premium is required now shows a link to activate a product when the user is signed in.

Driver Fusion 1.8

Driver Fusion 1.8 has been released! The main changes of this release are Windows 8.1 compatibility, many interface improvements and an improved driver family database. Below you will find the release notes containing the other changes.

  • Windows - Driver Fusion is now fully compatible with Windows 8.1.
  • Interface - Improved navigation to give you quick access to the controls in one convenient place.
  • Device installation settings - In device settings you can now change if you want Windows to always install the best driver software from Windows Update.
  • Device control - Improved design to make switching between devices and categories more visual and intuitive.
  • Search engine - Added DuckDuckGo to the possible search engines within Driver Fusion.
  • Monitor - Redesigned with a focus on improved readability and usability.

Changed features:

  • Driver family - The database of possible entries for NVIDIA display and AMD display has been updated.
  • Interface - The interface has been improved in many areas. Most notably are the Treexy account screens and the new menu for settings and signed-in users.

Driver Fusion 1.7

Version 1.7 is here! This release of Driver Fusion focuses on improving the interface and user experience. The release notes below contain more specific details about the updates, changes and fixes that Driver Fusion 1.7 introduces.

New features:

  • Driver family - Driver inspection and driver overview have been combined into a single completely redesigned screen named driver family (named driver family because all driver versions are combined into one group, e.g. AMD display drivers). The redesigned interface includes a more spacious layout, icons and better navigation.
  • Category view - Instead of listing all drivers the driver family screen just shows the categories. This makes it easier to find the driver that you want to delete instead of having to search through the list of all driver families.
  • Details view - This view provides the list of all driver families just like you were used to but now with the new design of the driver family screen.
  • Notification bar - Hints and notifications have been combined into one simple notification bar at the top of the screen.
  • Steam - If you use Driver Fusion on Steam you can now launch Driver Fusion without having the Steam client running. To do so you need to run the Driver Fusion executable with the parameter "-nosteam" (without the quotes).
  • Hint navigation - It is now possible to pause hints. Previous and next buttons can be used to browse all the hints manually.
  • Installed filter - Driver overview has been integrated with the new driver family screen. Installed drivers can now be filtered from the complete list by selecting the option to only show installed drivers.

Changed features:

  • No items available - Added an empty item text to lists that do not contain any items yet.
  • Manual and credits - Buttons have been added to the general settings to open the manual and view the credits screen.
  • Updated hints - Most of the texts have been updated, this also includes several new tooltips.
  • Verification - Resend verification will now return the user to the verification screen instead of returning to the main Driver Fusion window.
  • Multi removal - It is no longer possible to select multiple driver families by default. Experienced users can re-enable the selection of multiple driver families in the cleaning settings.
  • Progress indication - Backup and removal of driver family entries now indicates its progress in percentages.
  • Monitor - Support has been added for more hardware. This includes Samsung SSDs, Intel Haswell and AMD Jaguar CPUs.
  • Device control - Device control has been moved to the maintenance section instead of the computer section.
  • Device driver backup - Backups made with device control now better adhere to the file structure as originally defined by the vendors.

Resolved issues:

  • Horizontal scrolling - Improved horizontal scrolling support, fixing certain settings being partially unreadable on small window sizes and devices having unnecessary horizontal scrollbars in device control.
  • Desktop backup - Fixed desktop backup showing '0 icons'.
  • Faulty log - Fixed a potential crash on Windows Vista when trying to load a corrupted log in the log screen.
  • In-app update - Temporary update files would sometimes not be deleted. Driver Fusion now checks on startup if all temporary files from the last update were deleted properly.
  • Device driver backup - Some files would not be incorporated in the restore procedure due to incorrect naming.
